Plenty of Thanks and Christmas Giving

Plenty of Thanks and Christmas Giving

Hello!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  I always can’t wait for it to get here but, I’m sort of relieved when it’s over!  It’s such a busy time of year for most folks. January rolls around and I’m ready to just hibernate!

Thanksgiving here was wonderful!  I hosted for both my daughters and their families. It was a first and I am hoping it becomes a yearly tradition.  The grandkids loved meeting all the animals. I just enjoyed having all my family here at the same time!

Once the family headed back to Georgia I immediately began decorating for Christmas.  I only had a week to try and get most of the decorating complete! Here are some pics of my decorations.  I had a whole new level (the basement) to decorate this year!  It took me way longer than I expected but, in the end, it turned out pretty good!

This the kitchen area.

Loft Area Peep the new sled!    Here you can barely see the loft tree. I missed getting a picture of it.  I must do better next year!

Sadly, I only got two pictures of the basement!  Ugh!

By the way, only 5 ft. left of ceiling to be done!

Main Area  Herc and Teenie represented on our main tree.  This was the new tree collar Al made me!

I headed to Georgia for my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday party the very next weekend after Thanksgiving!

Another trip was scheduled for the weekend before Christmas.  That would be our time to celebrate with the girls and grands.  We ate well, opened presents, played a really fun game and just spent some time together. Al and I only drove down for the day.  Unfortunately, that was too long for the puppies. We came home to this disaster. Ugh. I guess they weren’t ready for that long of a separation.  We did celebrate their first birthday at the end of the month though!

We had a wonderful Christmas Day here at the farm.  We opened presents from each other and emptied our stockings. For breakfast we had poinsettias and cinnamon rolls with sausage cheese balls, then for dinner I cooked a ham, and some delicious sides.  It was so yummy.

New Years we celebrated with fireworks at midnight.  Check it out!   http://13dogfarm.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/IMG_2992.mov  We had black-eyed peas and greens for New Years Day dinner. It was delish.

We are so blessed and grateful for this past year.  I’m looking forward to what 2024 has to bring!

Happy New Year everyone! I pray we all have a successful and healthy one!

XO,

Elisa

  1. Looks really nice! We sold our land in Tennessee over the holidays. It will then be time to get a place in Florida close to Ryan and Kim.

  2. Looks so nice. You and Edla love Christmas. Miss our visits so much but we have a lifetime. Dixie keeping us grounded. Carter too. lol. ✌️❤️🇺🇸
