Christmas, New Years and How about them Dawgs!

Christmas, New Years and How about them Dawgs!

And, just like that, holiday season is upon us. But, even before Christmas arrived Teenie had to have surgery to remove a softball size growth on her leg.  It had been there for at least 4 years and we knew eventually it would come to this.  Prior to this, her doctor wasn’t able to do surgery as she did not have enough skin to close it up once removed. Since, at this point, it had grown so much that her skin stretched enough to be able to remove it.  And, thankfully, she handled it wonderfully.

We also, temporarily, added a dog to our entourage.  Al found Sniper (Apollo is what we had named him) at a gas station off of 25 which is a busy highway.  He was worried of him getting hit and the store clerk said he had come close a few times.  He willingly jump up into Al’s truck so, he brought him home.  I posted on several Facebook pages with pictures of him as I knew he belonged to someone.  He had been well taken care of and knew certain commands. Sure enough, someone claimed him.  They drove here to get him and he was so excited to see his owner.  We were sad to see him go but, happy we found his home.

I was able to get all my Christmas decor up the week after Thanksgiving.  Al took the whole week off which was great!  He helped me with a lot of it.  I had two trips scheduled to Georgia in December so, I wanted it all up before I left. Here’s some pictures of what I was able to accomplish in a week.  I finished most of it!!!! This was up in the loft area.    I also had two four foot trees in each guestroom.  This was in the patriotic room.  Not sure why I missed taking a picture of the cow bedroom tree! 🙁   This is from the greatroom.

I spent the first weekend in Georgia celebrating my grand daughters second birthday! Then, I went back down mid December for all the family get togethers.

And, Merry Christmas to Al and me!  We finally bought us an ATV. We named him K9.  Did you expect any thing else?

Evie came down the week after Christmas for a few days.  She and I ventured out one day and drove to Sevierville.  It’s about an hour away and what a blast we had!  It was so much fun that Al and I have rented a small cabin for Valentines weekend!  Tons of antique shops and distilleries.  I am looking so forward to it!

Of course, we spent New Years Eve watching the Dawgs win the Nationals!  What a game and what a moment to remember!

It was definitely a busy month for us!  I’m looking forward to January and some down time.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and a very Happy New Year!

XO,

Elisa
