A much needed to trip together to the farm was long overdue.\u00a0 Within the past thirty days we lost both our mothers. My mother passed within twenty days of being diagnosed with brain cancer.\u00a0 There are days I still can’t believe she is gone.\u00a0 Al’s mother had been on the decline for awhile and passed away six days later.\u00a0 No matter the time span, no death is ever easy.<\/p>\n

We fortunately were able to find a kennel that was experienced with our breed of dogs and felt comfortable enough to leave them there for a few days.<\/p>\n

The time we spent at the farm was amazing.\u00a0 The fireflies were in full force.\u00a0 I can’t even explain the beauty of those twinkling lights and how magical they looked.\u00a0 Thousands of them, it seemed, hovering over the plateau and down the hill.\u00a0 Just breathtaking.<\/p>\n

We took a day out of our trip and drove to the county seat.\u00a0 We had to obtain our building permit.\u00a0 We sat down with the Mayor himself.\u00a0 He was very personable.\u00a0 It was really a wonderful experience.\u00a0 People are so much more down to earth in this neck of woods.<\/p>\n

Construction on the basement began as well!\u00a0 Finally!\u00a0 It has been such a long and slow process.\u00a0 I hope the next few months travel quickly.<\/p>\n

There are mounds of dirt everywhere.\u00a0 Here Al stands on our newest mountain.<\/p>\n

The gravel driveway is sooo much nicer and looks wonderful.\u00a0 The puppies are not too sure about it though.\u00a0 They walk on the side to avoid it poking their pads, I assume.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, these babies have won our hearts.\u00a0 We love them to bits.<\/p>\n

Sometimes all one needs is to connect with nature to restore ones soul.<\/p>\n
