This was a short trip.\u00a0 Only 2.5 days but, we wanted to be there for Al’s birthday so, off we went.\u00a0 Surprisingly, we got so much done!\u00a0 The temps were way milder.\u00a0 Still hot, but not breathtakingly hot. \u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 The only mowing we did was around the barns.\u00a0 Al had been up a few weeks prior and mowed the plateau.\u00a0 The grass is definitely growing much slower.\u00a0 Hallelujah!!!\u00a0 We still plan to continuing mowing other areas though.\u00a0 Trying to get all sections of the property done before next Spring!\u00a0 The outer pastures will only need mowing maybe twice a year.\u00a0 We just haven’t been able to get to those because of the constant mowing of the areas in which we utilize. Hopefully winter months will allow us to get caught up.<\/p>\n

With less mowing we were finally able to clean out and organize both barns!\u00a0 I’ve been wanting to do this since we bought the property! Before<\/strong> – \"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After – \"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

All tobacco sticks are now in one stall and not scattered all over the property.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And, Wile E. has his own barn now!! \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

All hay is now in the past.\u00a0 Saw a few field mice but, then stumbled upon these cute babies and I think they will have their jobs cut out for them! \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 We removed some fencing and gates as well.\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>\u00a0 The large barn needs some reconstruction on the corners.\u00a0 The support beams are rotted.\u00a0 Al has done some work on them and our next trip he will continue with phase II.\u00a0 Apparently this must be done in phases or it could possibly cause the entire barn to cave in!\u00a0\u00a0 The small barn will become my potting barn.\u00a0 I have lots of ideas for it!!\u00a0 Reconstruction on it will take place once we have moved there.\u00a0 The only other building is a small shed on the outskirts of the property.\u00a0 Not sure what it’s function ever was but, it’s a two room building right by the gate.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a> This is a shot of it from the road.\u00a0 The doors (yes it has two) are on that side. We managed to clean one room out.\u00a0 (eight hefty bags later) We are cleaning the other room out on our next trip. This shed has been neglected as well.\u00a0 But, we are going to give it some love on our next trip.\u00a0 Maybe even a paint job!<\/p>\n

As always, we took time to walk the property.\u00a0 It’s great exercise and you see so much more on your feet than in a vehicle.\u00a0 We picked up some hickory nuts and took some really cool photos of the gate that leads to the plateau.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And, as always, our loyal friends kept us company throughout our stay.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a> Thought this was interesting.\u00a0 Like, get a room. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
