Hey Everyone!<\/p>\n

After the dinosaur high grass last month we looked at the calendar and realized that it would be far too long before our next trip. That lead to scary visions of Dog Tired being completely hidden by grass and probably the driveway as well! With limited time and a full dog-boarding calendar we opted for a quick trip to keep the grass in check. Honey (of course) was happy about this decision, though we are not sure if it is because the grass was going to be cut or the fact that there would be food!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With Honey (and Bun) well fed it was time to work the day job. Dog Tired is actually a very relaxing and efficient place to work, internet speeds are good, and the dogs provide great company – plus there is no Atlanta traffic!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After the day job was done it was on to tractor maintenance. Pokey needed to have some filters changed and Honey was happy to supervise the activities<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wile E also got some TLC and was the proud recipient of his own bush hog after which he took a test run around one of the barn fields<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After maintenance was done and a quick mowing of the barn field, it was soon growing dark. The beautiful, clear, skies of Thorn Hill offered a spectacular view of Venus and the Moon from the plateau.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Saturday began at sunrise with the mowing of the plateau and, while mowing the back section, tasty blackberries were discovered!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There are many blackberry bushes along the back of the plateau, along the driveway, and all along the front gate. There were only a few ripe blackberries, but we expect many ripe berries during the July trip. Looking forward to making lots of blackberry foods, trying our hand at canning and, if we have enough fruit, making some blackberry wine!!<\/p>\n

Also, while mowing, the trees on the front of the plateau were confirmed to be fruit trees.<\/p>\n

We are not sure what sort of tree this is, Google Image Search thinks it is a pear, others have said, apple, peach or persimmon. Stay tuned and check back to find out what these are and what sort of interesting things we can make with our newfound fruit!<\/p>\n
