I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!\u00a0 We enjoyed ours!\u00a0 But, honestly, I’m glad it is behind us now so we can get back to focusing on moving!\u00a0 Al and I kenneled Herc and Teenie for a week so we could spend some time at the property together.\u00a0 We exchanged our Christmas gifts the day after Christmas and we brought in the New Year there as well.\u00a0 Al returned to Georgia on the 2nd and I remained at the farm.\u00a0 I stayed until the 4th.\u00a0 Tag teaming is working pretty well.\u00a0 It was a little stressful for me coming back to Georgia.\u00a0 I still had all the Christmas stuff to pack away and put up and my house was in such disarray!\u00a0 Al does a great job maintaining but, all the packing and stuff was just so out of hand.\u00a0 But, I can sit here and blog now because it’s all caught up.\u00a0 My life feels like it has some order to it once again!<\/p>\n

I must say driving back and forth from the farm has given me a new found love for ’70’s music.\u00a0 I have been listening to it on my past two trips and it brings back so many wonderful memories!\u00a0 Truly enjoyable and makes the drive so much better!<\/p>\n

Much has happened with the cabin over the past few weeks!\u00a0 It’s beginning to look more and more like it may actually get finished soon!\u00a0 Framers have been focusing a lot on trim work.\u00a0 In a cabin there is A LOT of trim work.\u00a0 Floors are being laid and even kitchen cabinets are being installed. \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 I was so excited to see the cabinets!\u00a0 We picked them out back in August!\u00a0 I almost forgot what they looked like!\u00a0 The painter showed up the day I left to began the staining process.\u00a0 Al sent me a few pictures.\u00a0 I can’t wait to see it in person.\u00a0 It’s so hard to imagine how all the colors will come together.\u00a0 The stain, the cabinets and the flooring….but, I think it is going to look perfect!\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\u00a0 It’s amazing how stain brings out all the character in the wood.\u00a0 I just love it.\u00a0 Oh, and I can’t forget the front door!\u00a0 Obtaining this beast was not an easy task but, I insisted on this beauty.\u00a0 Thanks to my wonderful husband he made it happen!!\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0I initially planned on painting it red but, after seeing it and the knots in the wood, it will be stained instead.<\/p>\n

We finally finished picking out the light fixtures over the holidays and got them delivered to the cabin.\u00a0 Sinks, faucets, mirrors have all been done as well.\u00a0 I think we only need the counter tops and toilets at this point.\u00a0 We’ve picked them at least.\u00a0 I think all the picking and deciding is completed!\u00a0 Thank God!\u00a0 And, of course, I cannot forget Honey and Bun and the cats!!!\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0Honey sure knows how to sleep on her bed now.\u00a0 One day she stayed in with me for most of the day!\u00a0 Of course, it was raining and she had no inclination of getting wet.\u00a0 Bun still insists on staying outside. One never gets a solid nights sleep there.\u00a0 Bun barks, Honey wants out. Honey wants in, Bun barks, Honey wants out again.\u00a0 It reminds me of having a new born baby in the house!\u00a0 But, if this is the way it must be, then so be it.\u00a0 The cats….we have five.\u00a0 Three females and two males.\u00a0 These are the males and the only friendly ones really.\u00a0 We named them Chip (chocolate chip) and Zeb (Zebra stripes).\u00a0 They love to be petted.\u00a0 We walk to the mailbox and stop in at the barn to visit them daily.\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0The outbuilding (garage) foundation has been poured.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>We hope to have it built in the next two weeks.\u00a0 Once that is completed then, the moving can begin. We are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!!\u00a0 Finally!\u00a0 The road has been a long one but, I know it will be so worth it!<\/p>\n

Everyone is posting their word for the year 2020. My word for 2020 is CHANGE.\u00a0 Our way of life will change in so many ways once we move.\u00a0 Change can be scary but, with change comes growth.\u00a0 Growth is healthy no matter what stage you are in life. I will never be too old grow.<\/p>\n
