I headed up to the farm last week with the intentions of staying only a few days prior to Al showing up for the weekend.\u00a0 The weather forecast on Sunday showed very cold temperatures coming in with a possibility of snow on Tuesday.\u00a0 So, Monday I checked food inventory and made a quick run to Dollar General and decided I would stay a few more days after Al returned home on Sunday.\u00a0 I wanted to be there for the dogs obviously. And, we had our bathroom cabinets being delivered on Monday as well.\u00a0 I needed to be there to make sure they were unloaded and stored properly in the basement of the cabin.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>\u00a0Also, a few days snowed in sounded pretty good to me.\u00a0 Thank goodness I have no issues with spending time alone.\u00a0 In all honesty, I love it.<\/p>\n

The snow came and it was beautiful as I knew it would be.\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>Unfortunately, Bun wanted nothing to do with coming in the RV.\u00a0 She has a dog house that sits with the opening facing underneath the RV and we had filled it with hay a few weeks ago.\u00a0 She seemed content with that.\u00a0 Honey on the other hand, had no qualms about stepping right on in the RV when I opened the door. \"\"<\/a>\u00a0She knows what’s what!<\/p>\n

Freezing temps also meant no water for the RV and no sun for the array. \"\"<\/a>I planned ahead and filled all the containers I could find \"\"<\/a> and we also purchased bottled water at the DG (Dollar General).\u00a0 Have I said that I love that place yet?\u00a0 They seriously have everything.\u00a0 Well, everything except produce and they are only about 7 miles away! I put on my boots and winter gear and ventured out to clear snow off the array and feed the dogs.\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> Then, I hunkered down, snuggled up with Honey and just enjoyed the view.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly the electricians were the only ones that didn’t let the snow stop them.\u00a0 They showed up and continued to work as normal.\u00a0 All other guys were no shows. On site, we currently had the well guys in the process of drilling and the regular work crew was installing trim on the siding and had started with a tiny bit of flashing for the roof.\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\u00a0I was hoping to see more roof installation before I left but, the crew was called out to Gatlinburg on a separate job.\u00a0 So, to date, they have not returned.\u00a0 Don’t mind us, we would just like our cabin to be finished BY CHRISTMAS please!\u00a0 I know in my heart that is probably not going to happen.\u00a0 I quit believing in tentative completion dates.\u00a0 So far it does nothing but leave me totally frustrated and disappointed.\u00a0 I never knew it would be such a painfully slow process.\u00a0 It was difficult not being able to decorate for Fall.\u00a0 It will be ten times more difficult not getting to decorate for Christmas.\u00a0 Here in Georgia we are surrounded by boxes, literally in every room so, at this point getting a tree would be near impossible. We will push through though, keeping the greater picture in our focus.<\/p>\n

Wednesday the snow slowly began to melt.\u00a0 I ventured out and walked to the mailbox stopping in at the barn to check on the cats.\u00a0 I only found one who was utilizing the cat-tainer.\u00a0 She\/he was very friendly.\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0I continued on down to the mailbox and also changed out the flag sign on the shed to the Thanksgiving one. Yay for a small chance to decorate!\u00a0 The snow left no damage.\u00a0 It did create this beautiful sea of leaves though.\u00a0 The brightest orange I had ever seen!\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Once the electricians left out on Wednesday I spent some time over at the cabin.\u00a0 I walked around each floor envisioning what decor I would utilize here and there, where to hang certain items, arranging furniture in my head.\u00a0 Just dreaming.\u00a0 I then wrote a few bible verses throughout the cabin.\u00a0 In the front doorway….<\/p>\n

In the loft…..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And over the stairs heading to the basement….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Al will contribute his writings this weekend. He showed up early Thursday morning.\u00a0 We had coffee and biscuits and I headed home to Georgia.\u00a0 He plans on staying until the gravel gets poured on Monday or Tuesday for the outbuilding.\u00a0 Then he will head home.\u00a0 We have his sons wedding to attend in Savannah on Friday.\u00a0 He will try and get back up to the farm on the Saturday after the wedding\u00a0 and stay until Wednesday before Thanksgiving.\u00a0 I hope to go back on Saturday or Sunday after Black Friday! I may never come back.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 Say a prayer for us cause I know this next month is going to be crazy with the holidays and the many trips back and forth to the farm.<\/p>\n
