<\/a><\/p>\nWhile mowing I located a rather large egg.\u00a0 Not sure where or what it came from.\u00a0 Al took it to the area the previous eggs were located.\u00a0 Not sure if it was possible for it to even hatch at this point but, I hopefully helped it if it was.\u00a0 Sometimes that’s all you can do. I also found a box turtle.\u00a0 Left it alone.<\/p>\n
Dogs, as always, were happy to hang out with us.<\/p>\n On Friday as expected, the log trucks arrived and were up the road literally blocking a lane of traffic while the contractor set up a plan to strategically get them to the property.\u00a0 It had been raining and was suppose to continue intermittently throughout the day. My stomach was in knots! As we feared, the trucks refused to drive up the gravel road to our farm.\u00a0 So, what did they do?\u00a0We spoke with Betty (she owns a very small grocery store up the road) and she mentioned unloading at the local quarry.\u00a0 Contractor and Al drove to the quarry and they graciously offered a huge area where we could unload the trucks.\u00a0 This was about seven miles from the farm.\u00a0 Tractor trailers were unloaded. Al took his truck and trailer along with the graders truck and trailer and they both began to shuttle pieces and pallets of our cabin to the property.\u00a0 Pokey would then unload the pallets\u00a0 from the trailers.\u00a0 This continued throughout the day until night fall.\u00a0 All that was left was the extremely heavy beams\/equipment.<\/p>\n It was a very stressful situation and I did not like knowing half of our cabin was sitting in some quarry parking lot.\u00a0 Someone had definitely dropped the ball.<\/p>\n The next day our contractor was able to locate and hire additional help and obtained a Skid Steer to help unload and push heavier loads up the driveway.\u00a0 The process was less stressful (Al was not helping this go ’round) and move a lot more quickly.\u00a0 By the end of the day all parts and pieces of our cabin were on the plateau.\u00a0 Prior to them unloading all the materials I was able to mow the area really well.\u00a0 I knew it would be awhile before I could even get near it with my tractor.<\/p>\n We also took a trip to town (Sneedville) to obtain our Tennessee tags and speak with the power company on obtaining power to the cabin. While there, we stopped and visited the local Walmart and purchased some flowers.\u00a0 \u00a0I wanted to improve the look of the driveway so I worked on a small fence located between the big barn and small barn.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There were many cookouts but less sitting by the fire.\u00a0 It was HOT.
