Pre-mow
With our upcoming mini vacation trip I wanted to get ahead of the mowing prior to arrival. This included updating the front areas which had not received much attention this year. The red shed and the gate area looked much better after being brush cut. Due to the slopes much of this had to be cut by hand rather than tractor. Definitely something we will be looking to address within the next year as hand cutting is hard!!
In addition to the brush cutting the trip also gave a chance to see the progress made by the sunflower planting bed. These were raised by Elisa from seeds and transported to the farm back in June. A bit later than normal for sunflowers, but the results have turned out beautiful!
In addition to the beautiful sunflowers the welcome area has enjoyed the good weather and prospered!
While the sunflowers near the barn were the big focus, a little single sunflower was found growing under the bird feeder
While just a little sunflower and in the great big field all alone in some ways this single sunflower was the best one of the whole trip!
As the cabin is progressing we now have a second floor to see even more mountains behind our home!!
With the mowing complete looking forward to the labor day weekend and a bit of relaxation in addition to the ever popular mowing tasks!
