Make the best of any weather
We arrived at the farm for a much deserved mini vacation. The RV, unfortunately, was a bit toasty.
While Elisa put away supplies and set up the RV for our stay I hooked up the generator to get the air conditioning running in the RV. While the solar array is great and can run microwave, keurig, and the furnace it is not powerful enough to run the AC unit, so we hook up the generator for that part.
With temperatures dropping in the RV it was time to inspect for fleas and ticks
Thankfully both dogs passed their flea and tick inspection. Definitely fewer ticks this year, either due to more mowing or the work of the random possums, but we have not had a repeat of the massive tick issues from last year. The basement is progressing and the plumbers have installed all the under floor piping so things are ready for concrete!!!
Elisa spent some time in a relationship with an air conditioner and Honey became a world class swimmer!
Early morning hours are meant for sunbathing and recharging the solar labs!
Even though it was hot, it was time to think about winter and processing more wood
the wood pile has grown considerably, so we should have some great fires come winter time!
What started out as a very foggy morning ended with a walk to the mailbox to get all three letters from State Farm. These are all the flowers we encountered just from the edge of the driveway. It’s amazingly beautiful. I also introduced Al to the honeysuckle.
We also tried our first Amazon delivery to the farm. The “one day” shipping became two days when they figured out where we were located, but all things considered we’ll take it!!
We also had a rainy day to stay in bed all day!
The rain didn’t last long, so we fixed a leak over the bed and decided to binge watch netflix and drink some wine.
On Friday, our last day, we headed down to Morristown to get our Tennessee drivers license. We never realized how big Morristown actually is, there is a Kohls, Longhorns, Tractor Supply, Rural King as well as Home Depot, Lowes and Food City. We will be trading Tazewell for Morristown as our default shopping destination!
Honey says “hurry back!!
