Driveway, Rocks and other things

With the cabin design underway thoughts turned to how would the logs make it up the hill? The driveway was adequate for tractors and lifted 4x4s but there was no way logs were going to get up the hill. The first step was a quick weekend trip to widen and level the big curve leading up the hill to the plateau. With box blade in tow Pokey was up to the task and made fairly quick work of the curve

Along the way Pokey also collected a few pet rocks which we thought would be useful in future landscaping. We needed to stage the rocks in a central location and what better way to corral some rocks than to put them into the old corral!

While dragging the driveway a few artifacts were unearthed, including an old tractor seat. This appeared to be a side seat from a planting implement which was buried under the driveway area. Unfortunately it was run over long ago and folded in half. It would have made a great antique decoration if it was in better condition!

With the holidays over it was time spend a few minutes organizing the decorative signs and wreaths for the little red shed. What better place to store them than inside the shed itself!

As the driveway grading and rock collection came to a close Honey took a moment to inspect all the work that had been done.
