Going It Alone

Going It Alone

Prior to us leaving for our trip to the farm last month, our kennel that kept Herc and Teenie notified us that they would no longer be in the kenneling business.  This was not good news for us.  Herc and Teenie, as you probably already know, have social issues.  They do not normally like other humans and don’t ideally get along with other dogs.  The facility that kept them also trained them.  So they knew our dogs very well and their quirky behaviors.  With this news, Al and I knew that until we found a replacement kennel we would be taking trips to the farm alone.  Meaning one of us would have to stay home with them while the other went to the farm.

Al took the first trip to farm by himself.  It was frigid cold and we both desperately wanted to check on the welfare of Honey and Bun and the cats.

Al used this time to cut new fields.  We call this one Tobacco Row as it was the portion of land that had been previously rented out to grow tobacco.

This was much needed and looked so much better once it had been completed.  Note the house across the street.  This is where Bun and Honey apparently belong.  Note how deserted it looks.

But all is well,  Honey was able to come in and get warm at night.  Bun even came in for a bit!  It must have been cold!

In cutting this new area, Al found a really nice telephone pole.

Hopefully next trip will be my turn!
