Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Al and I were so fortunate to have enough time to take off work from the day after Christmas to the day after New Years. We both were so ready to spend an entire week on the farm.

Changing our sign at the shed will become a new tradition for us!

Cold as it was we had ample fires and enough heat in the RV to stay warm.  Plus, we were able to share that heat with our little friends.

Bun is not pictured here because nothing can coax her into the RV!  That dog will not come in!

The goats have left.  I suppose someone came and got them.  The cats however, abound! They are everywhere!!  They have come to the barn for shelter which we aren’t complaining!  We did buy them a bowl and food.  And we made them “catainers” to sleep in.

They tend to love it in the barn.  But, I do worry for them.

We tilled the future garden.  It will be down by the barn.

I look so forward to growing our own food!

And, it being in the dead of winter, it has given us a chance to mow other fields.  We spend so much time in Spring and Summer just keeping the plateau and areas around the barn cut it’s hard to hit any other areas.  Once we are living here that should get easier.

While Al mowed, I walked the property to areas I have not been yet.  I love these two trees.  You can see them from the road and driveway but, I have never been up close to them.  I think I will call them the “His and Her” trees.  Maybe one Christmas I’ll put lights on them?

I also walked down to the lower pond at the bottom of the property.  The dogs took a swim even though it was cold out!  It’s pretty and it even has some cattails in it!

We left quite sad knowing all that would keep the dogs warm was our little make shift stall and the feeder.  We have no idea what happened to the owners.  They just left for the winter maybe?

I pray for these babies daily.

Happy New Year everyone!  I cannot wait to see what God has planned for us this new year!
