Bitter Cold
This visit was so bitter cold. Single digits. I’ve never camped out in colder weather. We spent most of our time building fires to try and stay warm.
We did manage to post the entire perimeter of the property with no trespassing signs.
In doing so, we managed to walk areas of the property we had not been to yet. Little did we know but, we have a small cemetery off to the side of the plateau. Not ON our property but NEXT to it.
That’s another thing, you apparently bury your family on your property in rural areas. At least this assures us no one will be building right next to us! Oh, we finally met a neighbor, Todd. A young guy with a small boy. He stopped us while we were posting signs to tell us he had a live raccoon trap on our property and that he would remove it as soon as he returned home. Interesting. Must find out his reason for trapping them. A nuisance? Food source? Despite the cold weather, we were able to rid the property of a few fallen trees.
We also hung our street numbers at the front gate (and no we didn’t pick it) and our sign on the big barn!
Little by little we are making this place ours! As always, it was so peaceful. I just love it.
So incredibly thankful! I cannot wait to live here!
Our little shed…..
Oh, we have increased our skills at deciphering a bush from cow. 🙂
