News Flash Inside!
So, the end of January was my first time to go alone to the farm. (At this point, Al and decided that we would make a concerted effort to visit at least every other weekend until we figured out the situation with Honey and Bun.) Honestly though, I couldn’t do it completely alone. There were hoses and pipes and whatever’s that needed Al’s attention before I could stay there alone. So, Al came up first and set everything up as far as water and such and then I showed up a day later. He left the same day I showed up so he could be home within an eight hour window for the dogs. It was crazy but, every bit worth it. We were able to see the puppies at the farm and our babies at home didn’t have to go without us either.
Several people were surprised that I would want to stay out in the middle of nowhere alone. Let me tell you, I loved it. I had my gun and I had the puppies outside to alert me to anything. And, the driveway is 3/4 of a mile long so, I would have seen any vehicle approaching. But, I also had the gate locked. So there was that. Unless someone came on foot it would have been difficult to go undetected. And, to be quite honest, I enjoy being alone every now and then. I actually feel safer here at the farm then in Woodstock, GA!
I brought plenty of books and magazines to read. I brought scrap booking materials and I totally re-did my cookbook! I also had my laptop as usual. I walked the property a few times to avoid cabin fever. .
Honey and Bun, as always, were the best company.
