Tennessee chainsaw massacre!
While mowing is often the focus of our trips and posts. Our new power pole was at risk. There was a long dead cherry tree that had the potential to fall on the line. A quick bit of chainsaw and tractor work and the tree was no longer a threat
The tree turned out to be much larger and drier than original expected. The wood was fully seasoned as it fell and had been standing dead for many years. This was quickly turned into a nice addition for next winter’s fireplace. While it’s hard to see in the picture, the firewood pile is now over 40 feet long and 4-5 feet high
Back at the cabin, Bun was eager to show the progress which the workers had made
While Bun could not make it to the first floor to show how things were looking on that level they were definitely making progress there as well
While doing some weed whipping around the barn a very old bottle was uncovered. This bottle had a 1967 stamp in the bottom. Unfortunately the top was broken, but it is still a very cool old bottle. We kept the bottle and once we are fully moved will probably cut the broken top off and make a vase….
Since it was still hot out a pool full of water was brought to the plateau for the labs to cool off in, unfortunately Bun viewed this as a great big water bowl!
While this was a short trip knowing that i’ll be back soon helps and at least Bun will have enough water!!
